RaceTrac Rewards Is Getting Reward-ier

As of February 2025, registered RaceTrac Rewards members need to requalify for Rewards status each year. That means you’ll need to reach the annual point minimum for your current Reward tier each calendar year (January 1 to December 31) to keep your status through the following year. But don’t worry: we’ve made it easier than you think, with updated point thresholds for each rewards tier (found in the table below).

RaceTrac Rewards has been a hit thanks to loyal members like you. That’s why we want to make our program even better. To give RaceTrac Rewards the right support for the long run, some key changes were needed. These updates will allow us to reinvest in the program, enhance the value of its offerings, and ultimately bring you a more rewarding and more personalized experience.

Short answer: it depends. What’s not changing in 2025 are your current benefits, so to make sure you’re still receiving the perks you deserve, you might see your status bumped up to a new tier:

• If you were in Tier 1 (Duke of Dog), you’ll stay in Tier 1
• If you were in Tier 2 (Prince of Pastry), you’ll stay in Tier 2 and continue to get one free beverage a month
• If you were in Tier 3 (King of Coffee), you’ll now be in Tier 4 to continue to get a free beverage 4 times a month
• If you were in Tier 4 (Sultan of Soda), you’ll now be in Tier 5 to continue to get a free beverage every day

These benefits will be honored through 12/31/2025. But don’t forget: you'll need to re-qualify for your tier status for 2026 and each year after based on the new point thresholds.

We've adjusted our tier thresholds to make them more attainable within a year, and introduced a new 5th tier to set your sights on:

• Tier 1: 0-149 points
• Tier 2: 150-699 points
• Tier 3: 700-1399 points
• Tier 4: 1400-3999 points
• Tier 5: 4000 points

Monitoring your status is easy with our new status tracker in the RaceTrac app. Check your points in real-time and stay on top of your status goals all year long. Psst: you can find it under the “Rewards” tab in the “Status” section!

To keep your status in 2026 and beyond, you’ll need to earn the minimum number of points for your tier during the calendar year (January 1 to December 31). Once that minimum is reached, you’ve done it! You just earned your status for the remainder of the calendar year, as well as the following full calendar year. From there, it’s rinse and repeat; simply requalify again each year to keep your status going. We’ll be here to help you rack up as many points as possible during this transition: stay tuned for exciting points opportunities (like exclusive offers and bonuses) to fast-track your progress.

If you don't reach the point minimum for your current tier in 2025, your 2026 status will move to the tier that corresponds with your earning activity. So you’ll still have access to plenty of great benefits and offers, no matter your rewards status. Plus, you can always move back up in the ranks by earning enough points to qualify for a higher status in the future.

Simply put, you’ll need to earn a point minimum to keep status each year. Once that minimum threshold is reached, you’ve earned your status for the remainder of the calendar year in which you qualify, as well as the following full calendar year. For example, if you qualify for Tier 5 in September of 2025, you’ll enjoy Tier 5 benefits though December 31, 2026. Your status for 2027 will depend on your earnings in calendar year 2026.

The tier drink benefits are getting an update, too. First and most exciting: now you can redeem your reward for any size fountain or frozen beverage, with increasing frequency based on status — all the way up to every day! To make room for this upgrade, we’re removing hot coffee as a benefit option. But don’t worry, we’ve got big plans for keeping you rewarded: stay tuned for an expanded rewards catalog (including hot coffee) and more exclusive benefits heading your way.

Any current available points you have to redeem are safe and sound. Point earning is still the same, too, with an accrual rate of 1 point per gallon of gas purchased and 4 points per $1 spent inside on qualifying purchases. Just a reminder: your existing points will remain valid according to our current points expiration policy, where points expire one year after earning. And as always, points redeemed toward rewards never negatively impact your status. Earned points will always count toward your yearly status, even if you later redeem those points for a reward.
